You Are God's Treasure!

Deuteronomy 7:6

For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.

Our kids love sparkly things! So, of course, I had to include shiny sequins and glitter in today's craft. Who doesn't love sparkly treasure? First, the coloring page I used came from a website called Coolest Free Printables (link to the original picture: ), but I added the text. Here is the page that our kids colored and glued decorations to:

While they were busy creating their treasure, we talked about what they had that they loved, and was precious to them. I love asking open ended questions, to get everyone involved in the discussion. The dialog I wrote:

After everyone shared what their treasure was, I continued with the lesson above. Then, I pulled out the foam picture frames. I wrote "I am God's Treasure" on each of them, and let each child decorate the frame with all the confetti that they wanted. The package of a dozen frames was $5, and a small package of assorted confetti and sequins was $2, both from Walmart. Once they add a photo of themselves, they will always be reminded about how much they are loved by God. Here is an example of the one my daughter did (just don't tell her sister that I used her photo!)
